Bedworth Business & Community

Promoting Business & Community Activities in This Lively Active Town

Bedworth is a market town in the Nuneaton and Bedworth district of Warwickshire. With a population of around 32,300. Bedworth is adjacent to Coventry close to the New Ricoh Arena, and it is sometimes considered by some a suburb of Coventry. A town with much to offer, and definitely on the tourist trail, being visited by both UK & overseas tourists. The most notable buildings in Bedworth are the Nicholas Chamberlaine's Almshouses on All Saints' Square in the town centre, which are built in Tudor style and date from 1840.
Bedworth is a town with a proud mining history & industrial heritage. Bedworth developed as an industrial town in the 18th and 19th centuries, due largely to coal mining and the overspill of ribbon weaving and textile industries from nearby Coventry. Until 1994 recently Bedworth was primarily a coal mining town.   Commercially Bedworth has re-invented itself with a lively town centre shopping area, and 'its many specialist businesses' near to the town centre. Served by a railway station close to the centre of the town; junction 3 of the M6 motorway taking vehicles via the bypass directly to the town, the bus services taking passengers within a few paces of the town centre making Bedworth easily accessible. The Coventry Canal also runs close to the town, making an interesting 'stop off for boaters'. There is an excellent Shopmobility scheme for the 'not so nimble'.
